A Redding burglar decided to plead guilty in court Tuesday. Joshua Paul Vanandre broke into a house while the resident was away on vacation. Neighbors were paying attention and confronted Vanandre, but he got away after brandishing a convincing-looking replica handgun at them. Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies captured him a few minutes later nearby as he was walking away down the street. He had stolen items from the house in his pockets, as well as methamphetamine and heroin. It was Vanandre’s first felony conviction. He was sentenced to two years in state prison.
