A fire crept up out of the chasm beneath the Veterans Memorial Bridge on Placer Road Friday morning. The fire was first reported at 1:45AM beneath the bridge the spans the gulch high over Clear Creek. It spread slowly up the west side of the canyon near Castle Lane and some large trees torched up. Cal-Fire crews and volunteers from Igo and Centerville got the fire contained at around 4 acres.
