The City of Redding will hold an event to educate customers and gather comments about a proposed hike in water, sewer and garbage rates. The increase in rates would be done in three steps ending in July of 2018. By then the average single family home would see an increase in their bill of about 20 Dollars, according to a city analysis. The utility wants to send ballots out to customers about the rates. City staff will answer questions about the plan, and about why they need the extra money, at an open house in the community room at city hall on Wednesday from 4PM to 7PM.
