The City of Redding has approved a major expansion for Waterworks Park. The waterslide park in North Redding will add an area called “Cowabunga Beach”, which is a 10,000 square foot wave pool that’ll generate 4 foot waves to replicate surf. There will also be a wade pool for smaller children with interact slides and other water features. The park is also adding a birthday party area, an expanded kitchen and gift shop and upgraded restrooms. The new construction should be done in time for the 2017 season. Waterworks Park management says the expansion will increase their staffing by up to 30%.
