The Shasta County Board of Supervisors isn’t making things easy for their Tehama County counterparts. As the Deputy Sheriff’s Association to the south remains locked in a bitter salary dispute, the board in their northern neighboring county easily approved a salary hike Tuesday. The 6% boost and other benefits for Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies and Sergeants will cost the county more than a Half-Million Dollars. The contract also includes a new retirement plan. Meanwhile the Tehama County Board of Supervisors have a ballot initiative in November seeking a raise for themselves, but negotiations with the deputy’s union are ongoing.
