Flu Clinic Planned For Wednesday

The flu kills an average of 36,000 American’s every year and hospitalizes 226,000. Most at risk are the young, the old, and anyone with other medical conditions. As flu season approaches, Shasta County officials encourage everyone aged 6 months and older, including pregnant women, to get a flu vaccine. It’s available at many drug stores and grocery stores. Appointments can be made at the public health office on Breslauer way by calling 225-5591. A drive-though flu vaccine and pneumonia shot clinic will take place next Wednesday from 5:30AM to 1PM at the fairgrounds in Anderson. Public health charges 11 Dollars for the flu shot.

A group of local activists believes that vaccinations can be much more costly than the illnesses they prevent. Two documentaries on the subject will be shown locally in the next few days. The film “Silent Epidemic” will be shown at the Redding Library at 3:30PM Saturday. The film “Vaxxed” will be shown at the Redding Patriots meeting at the Eagles Nest on Bechelli Lane on Monday at 6PM.
