A convicted Shasta County child molester has been given the maximum possible sentence. 69-year-old Gary Lee Trusty was found guilty in July of six felony counts. During his trial three girls took the witness stand to testify that trusty had molested them when they were between the ages of six and ten. The jury found trusty guilty of charges related to two of the victims and he was acquitted on the third girl. Trusty was sentenced on Friday to 45 years to life in state prison.
A Redding man has been sentenced for repeatedly raping a young girl. Christopher Dale Ables was found guilty of ten felony counts of various sex crimes by a Shasta County jury in August. His crimes were committed in 2014 and early 2015 against a 12-year-old girl. On Friday, Ables was given a sentence of 32 years in state prison. He’ll be registered as a sex offender for life.
