Speed Limits Increasing On Numerous County Road

The Shasta County Board of Supervisors will enact an ordinance Tuesday that changes a number of speed limits on heavily traveled county roads. Most of them are going up, including up to 55 miles per hour in Churn Creek Bottom, and on Old Oregon Trail from Collyer to Old Alturas and on Dersch from Airport Road to Deschutes. Happy Valley Road is going to 45 from Canyon Road to Highway 273 and Gas Point Road is going to 50-miles-per-hour from I-5 to Moonbeam. There are a number of other changes as well, which the board approved September 13th.
