A motorcyclist was killed after sideswiping a car Wednesday morning, according to Redding Police. Officers were called at 11:42AM to the intersection of South Bonnyview Road and Churn Creek Road. They found that a Toyota Venza and and a motorcycle had been in a collision. The driver of the Toyota, 64-year-old William Ray Wilburn of Cottonwood, had exited northbound I-5 at South Bonnyview. As he was turning right onto eastbound Bonnyview a motorcyclist was riding through the intersection on a green light. Police say Wilburn didn’t see the rider until it was too late and the bike sideswiped the car. The unidentified rider was taken to Mercy where he succumbed to his injuries. His name will be released when his family has been notified. Police say alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been a factor.
