Parolee Arrested For Attempting To Run Man Over

A man assaulted another man with his car Monday night, according to Redding Police. At 8:10PM officers were called to the Oakwood Mobile Home Park on Lake Boulevard. 36-year-old Dustin Clemens said 47-year-old James Nolan approached him and asked if he could buy drugs. Clemens said he doesn’t sell drugs and was offended by the request, and the two started arguing. Nolan allegedly tried to run over Clemens with his car, striking his leg and leaving an abrasion. Nolan then reportedly rammed a parked car and caused major damage before driving away. Police say that on his way out he tried to run over someone taking a picture of his license plate. While officers were still there, Nolen returned to the park because he lives there. When contacted he reportedly admitted to trying to run over Clemens, hitting the parked car, and driving under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs. He was treated at a hospital for facial injuries he got from the crash and booked into jail on several charges. Nolen is on parole from a conviction for evading police.
