Man Sentenced To Prison For High Speed Pursuit

Many people have wondered what would happen if they tried to get away from the police. That is, if it’s not coupled with any other crime, how much jail time would they get for a pursuit. That’s what 26-year-old Allan Darling was wondering, and he found out. On June 27th Darling was driving a Mustang on Monroe Street in Red Bluff when a Tehama County Deputy tried to pull him over. He took off at high speed, reaching 80 miles an hour in a 30 mile an hour zone and running 3 stop signs. He then slammed on the brakes, skidded, and crashed into a dirt embankment. He tried to get away on foot but was quickly captured. Darling was recently given a 2 year prison sentence for evading.
