Redding’s LGBT community wanted to gain visibility with an event in Downtown Redding on Saturday, but the forecast for rain will greatly decrease that visibility as the event has been forced indoors. Some of the Redding Pride group will probably still march, rain or shine, from the north end of the Market Street Promenade starting at Noon. But they won’t be marching to Library Park as originally planned. Instead they’ll hold their “2016 Redding LQBTQ Pride Festival” at the atrium, a cavernous space at the south end of the promenade. That event is planned from 1PM to 5PM Saturday, with live music, dancing,DJ’s spinning records, various colorful performers, speakers, food and more. Oganizers say it’ll be a family friendly festival.
