The storm that’s upon Northern California has already claimed a life east of Redding. A little before 2AM a crash was discovered off of Highway 44 near Dersch Road. A Toyota Prius slid off the road and went through a barbed wire fence. The driver and only occupant of the car, identified as 77-year-old Earldean McLind of Shingletown, was declared dead at the scene.
