A 31-year-old Gerber man was shot and killed Wednesday morning. At about 6:10AM Tehama County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the 100 block of Mariposa Avenue in Gerber by 31-year-old Kory Daniel Leffler, who told dispatchers that he had shot a man who he said had broken into his home. Once on scene, deputies found Joshua Daniel Pacheco Sr. lying in the middle of the front yard dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Leffler was detained and deputies were able to recover a firearm at the scene. Leffler and an unidentified woman were taken to the sheriff’s office in Red Bluff. Deputies arrested Leffler just before 11AM and he was booked into jail on murder charges.
