The Shasta County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a man who was killed while crossing Cypress Avenue just west of Athens Avenue Tuesday night. At around 7 O’clock Martin Joseph Condon was trying to cross outside of a crosswalk from Crown Motors on the south side to the Cypress Street Car Wash on the north side when he was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lanes. The 57-year-old Redding man was declared dead at the scene. Redding Police determined that the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
