Redding Police say resolution came quickly after a 62-year-old man was robbed of his 2000 Dollar mountain bike Thursday afternoon. At about 2 O’clock Joe Eallard was riding by the Bank of America on East Street downtown when a stranger knocked him to the ground and his bike was taken by force. He reported the crime quickly and gave a good description of his bike and the thief to dispatchers. 10 minutes later two RPD Officers stopped 36-year-old Michael Espinoza riding on Cypress just north of Athens Avenue. Already on probation for weapons and stolen property, Espinoza is in jail without bail for strong arm robbery.
