A man dressed up like a not-so-comforting teddy bear was arrested after frightening people in South Anderson Saturday night, according to police. It was a little after Midnight when officers were sent to the Baymont Inn on reports of an evil-looking bear looking into vehicles and holding a knife to his own throat. When officers arrived, they handcuffed and detained 28-year-old Travis Wallace for public intoxication. He was wearing a costume called “Psycho Teddy Bear”. They searched him and found two 10-inch hunting knives, a pocket knife and a box cutter. The desk clerk said Wallace had come out of one of the hotel rooms and stood behind him staring at him, then walked a few feet and stared at him again until he returned the gaze, and Wallace then lifted his shirt to show one of the hunting knives. The clerk said Wallace then walked into the laundry room and looked into the surveillance camera while stabbing the knife toward it, then drew the knife across his throat. The clerk was not amused and called 9-1-1. Wallace was booked for criminal threats, exhibiting a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed fixed blade knife and other charges.
