The state capitol Christmas Tree will again come from the woods of Shasta County. Cal-Fire will cut down the tree on Monday in the 9-Thousand acre Latour State Forest east of Whitmore. The official state Christmas Tree will be carried on a Cal-Fire truck with a CHP escort to the west lawn of Capitol Park in Sacramento, where it will be set up on Tuesday. A state crew will then begin trimming the tree with 10-Thousand LED lights and hundreds of handmade ornaments created by developmentally disabled children and adults.
