A 66-year-old neighborhood watch captain has been convicted of a felony for pepper-spraying a man while arguing about his driving. On January 5th Earl Boek followed Michael Haglan home and berated him for running a stopsign at White River Drive and Redwood Boulevard. Haglan said Boek parked one of his tires on his lawn, and he was livid. Boek, who was still sitting in his car, said he felt threatened by Haglan so he shot him in the face with pepper spray from about 6 feet away. Boek was found guilty by a jury Thursday of illegal use of tear gas. He could get up to 3 years in prison when he’s sentenced December 5th.
