The Shasta County Bomb Squad was called to an Old Oregon Trail church for a couple of explosive devices Monday morning. Staff arriving at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints center across the street from Shasta College saw two 20-ounce water bottles and recognized them as possibly dangerous, according to Sheriff’s Lieutenant Jason Barnhart. They had a substance inside that was likely Drano or a similar acidic substance that reacts with aluminum foil to explode.
