A Corning woman has been sentenced for stabbing a fellow suspect during an armed standoff. In April Corning Police Officers following a tip went to the Toomes Avenue home of 25-year-old Cesar Macedo looking for him and 22-year-old Christian Macedo. What followed was a 10 hour standoff that ended when the SWAT Team deployed tear gas into the attic of the house. The two people hiding still refuse to come out, saying they would kill themselves. Eventually Cesar Macedo crawled out after another tear gas canister. He was spraying blood from an arterial wound to the chest, saying the other person had stabbed him. That person was 28-year-old Angelina Castaneda. She also had a stab wound to the chest. Cesar’s brother Christian was captured later and they face murder charges in another case. Castaneda, who had prior strikes, has been sentenced to 7 years in state prison.
