The Shasta County Coroners Office is having trouble finding the family of a pedestrian who was killed by a train early Monday morning in Redding. It was 2:45AM when 35-year-old Theodore Jacob Morris was walking on the tracks southbound behind Gironda’s Restaurant north of the Eureka Way overcrossing. As a train approached with the horn blasting, Morris never attempted to move out of the way and was struck by the locomotive going about 40 miles an hour. A post mortem exam was done Tuesday. The coroner’s office is asking for help finding next of kin. Morris was 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds with reddish/brown hair and green eyes. Anyone who knew him is asked to call 225-5551.
