A man was shot west of Cottonwood during an argument about a dog Monday morning. The dispute was between two men who both live on the same remote property off of Gas Point Road in the Two Feathers Road area, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office. The fight apparently started when the other man kicked Dillon Kulawik’s dog. It ended with Kulawik being shot in the leg. He was then driven toward Redding up Happy Valley Road by Rebecca Brooks in an Infiniti SUV. She called 9-1-1 while en route and a CHP Officer met her at Canyon Road and Highway 273. Kulawik was taken from there by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center to be treated for his non-life threatening gunshot wound. Deputies headed out to the Two Feathers property to look for the alleged shooter. They found a lot of trailers and temporary shelters and vehicles but no permanent structures and no people. The identity of the shooter is not known. He apparently is only known to Kulawik as “B”.
