Smokers are expected to refrain from lighting up Thursday for the 41st annual Great American Smokeout. The Shasta County Tobacco Education Coalition will be providing “quit kits” to smokers in the parking lot of the San Francisco Deli on Athens Avenue from 10AM to 2PM. The smokeout provides smokers with an opportunity to learn how to quit, and to plan for a life without cigarettes. More information is available 229-8467 or visit tobaccofreeshasta.org.
