A 52-year-old man has been arrested for the alleged molestation of an 11-year-old over a period of 5 to 6 years. On November 3rd, the boy reported he had been sexually assaulted by David Rios of Red Bluff. The boy was interviewed by a multi-disciplinary team from several agencies at the Tehama County Child Interview Center. The boy revealed that Rios had committed numerous sex crimes against him. The boy also said that Rios had tortured him and made threats against his life to keep him from reporting the assaults. Due to the seriousness of the allegations and the psychological effect on the boy, a 2nd interview was done the next day. Police say Rios knew the boy and his mother. 5 search warrants were served Tuesday at locations in Red Bluff and Tehama County. Rios was arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail on 13 felony charges. His bail was set at nearly 2.5 Million Dollars. Police believe the Rios only victimized the boy, but investigators say that sex offenders often abuse multiple victims before they are caught.
