An accused purse snatcher in Red Bluff has been arrested. Monday afternoon a 47-year-old woman was at Wal-Mart loading things into the trunk of her car when a woman ran past and grabbed her purse, then hopped into the passenger seat of a Honda Accord. The car started to take off, but the victim dove headfirst into the open drivers side window and grabbed her purse. As the driver started out of the parking lot with the woman’s legs dangling out the drivers side window, she shoved the gear shift into park, then backed out of the window with the purse in her hand. The Honda fled. Tuesday afternoon somebody reported seeing the silver Honda Accord in an alley between Jackson and Monroe Streets. Officers checked it out and found 24-year-old Katie Wallenberg and two unrelated men. Wallenberg was identified by the victim and booked into jail for robbery and kidnapping. Police are still looking for the alleged getaway driver, described as a white man with tattoos covering both arms.
