Public Comment Sought On Plan To Revitalize Downtown

The City of Redding is putting together a revised downtown specific plan, and they invite the public to weigh in on the process. An open house style meeting is set for Thursday from 4 to 7 at city hall, where staff and consultants will present specific plan updates at 4:15, 5:15 and 6:15. Topic stations set up around the room will allow people to focus on the things that matter to them in terms of land use, open space locations, and pedestrian and bicycle improvements. The existing specific plan was made in 2001, and the city wants to make changes to revitalize the downtown area into the thriving commerce and cultural center it once was and still tries to be.
