Nobody was injured in a trailer explosion at the northeast edge of Redding. At around 5AM multiple 9-1-1 callers reported explosions at a home off of Harley Leighton Road next door to the mobile home park. Arriving firefighters found a fully engulfed travel trailer and an outbuilding containing a well pump, as well as various vehicles and debris. Cal-Fire Captain Specialist Darin Stewart says the residents of the house on the property were the first to call, and at that time only the pumphouse was burning. Stewart estimates damage to be at least $10,000, and likely more. Although the fire seems to have originated at the pumphouse, the specific cause is under investigation. No evidence of anything illegal had been found.
