A woman in a station wagon was chased from the City of Shasta Lake to Redding Thursday afternoon. At around 1:30PM a deputy tried to pull over the Ford wagon for traffic violations on Pine Grove Boulevard but the driver fled, leading the deputy on a pursuit. After about 6 miles of reckless driving, the car stopped at Cassidy’s Auto Lube on Lake Boulevard. Deputies surrounded the car and ordered the driver out, but she didn’t respond for a while. Identified as 53-year-old Djuana Jane Franks, she eventually got out and was taken into custody. After a medical clearance at the hospital, Franks was booked into jail for evading, resisting arrest and driving on a suspended license.
