Redding Firefighters stopped a blaze in North Redding Saturday evening before homes were damaged. The fire did destroy a homeless camp. It was reported at around 6:30PM off Lake Boulevard and Saint Marks Street. Neighbors said they heard popping sounds like ammunition just as the fire was starting. A cause has not been determined.
