A Douglas City man was taken to a hospital in Redding after crashing his Ford Focus down an embankment on Highway 3. The CHP reports that 33-year-old Timothy Martin was driving south on Highway 3 about 5:40AM Friday when he failed to negotiate a right hand curve near Musser Heights Road. The Focus drove across the north bound lanes and left the roadway and went down an embankment. The car crashed into numerous trees and came to rest on its wheels facing the opposite direction. Martin was able to get of out the Focus and waited for emergency personnel to arrive. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Redding with major injuries.
