Anderson Police recovered a car stolen from Humboldt County during a high risk traffic stop. About 3:50PM Thursday an officer spotted a blue Dodge Dart driving north on McMurry Drive. The officer ran the license plate and determined that the car was stolen and attempted to pull the driver over in the 2800 block of McMurry Drive. Police say the driver failed to listen to his commands and fled on foot with a large dog. 52-year-old Veronica Adams of Cottonwood fled and ran through the Motel 6 parking lot before she was caught in the area of Gaynon Drive and Childress Drive. At first police say Adams gave the officer a fake name, but eventually officers were able to identify her. She was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail.
