The neighborhood police unit has taken two more alleged drug dealers off the street. According to a press release, officers were working along Hilltop Drive Wednesday afternoon when they noticed a vehicle in the Mt. Shasta Mall parking lot with suspected drug activity occurring. The driver, 18-year-old Jonathon Michael Lunsford of Redding was found to be on probation. A passenger, 21-year-old Joseph Daniel Lunsford was also found to be on probation. Officers say they recognized the brothers due to their past gang related drive by shooting. During a probation search of the vehicle, officer allegedly found Cocaine, Xanax, a scale and a large quantity of cash and packaging materials. Also found was an illegal weapon known as a “slung shot” with a pool ball concealed in a sock.
