A Red Bluff man has been given a life sentence for murdering a man in a marijuana garden last year. 26-year-old Thomas Michael Dixon called 9-1-1 last June 5th to say he had just shot a man in self defense. The dead man had been shot multiple times with a 12-gauge shotgun. Dixon said the victim had tried to steal some of his property and attacked him, cutting his arm with a knife. The shooting happened in an active marijuana growing operation in the community of Campbellville in the mountains east of Los Molinos. Dixon has been sentenced this week to 19 years to life in state prison for second degree murder.
