Local businesses, or prospective businesses, with a focus on women have an opportunity for a serious boost to their cash flow. Shasta Economic Development Corporation is participating in a national contest called the “Innovateher Challenge”. They’re looking for entrepreneurs who have created a product or service that meets three criteria: It has a measurable impact on the lives of women and families, it has the potential for commercialization and it fills a need in the marketplace. Eligible businesses must be based out of Shasta, Siskiyou, Trinity, Tehama, Butte or Humboldt County. Five finalists will pitch their ideas to a panel of local judges and the winner competes in a national competition for $70,000. The pitch night will be a public event at the Shasta Venture Hub June First. Contestants must send an e-mail by Monday to joy.taylor@e-jedi-org.
