An Alturas man is being sought for the murder of a man on Saturday. 35-year-old James Houseman and 30-year-old Christopher Allen Brown were in a fistfight in Houseman’s front yard on Southwest C Street in Alturas when Brown allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Houseman. He was taken to Modoc Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. An arrest warrant has been issued for Brown. He’s 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.
