A Red Bluff man has received a sentence sharply more lenient than it would have been before Proposition 47. Last month, 21-year-old Valente Martinez had made violent threats to somebody, and Red Bluff Police Officers were looking for him as part of their investigation when they found him in a car with some other people. An officer spotted a bag containing a lot of Heroin so he called in Tehama Interagency Drug Enforcement. They searched the car and found almost 17 grams of Heroin, scales, knives with Heroin residue, and a .380 semi-auto pistol with ammo. Martinez told officers that the heroin and the gun belonged to him. For possession of drugs for sale and possession of drugs while holding a gun, he’s been sentenced to 4 months in jail and 80 hours community service.
