Park Service officials at Whiskeytown want to get a handle on their trails. There are a few official trails and many trails that are technically illegal and they want to figure out which trails to maintain and which to let go. Officials want to define a designated trail system to guide trail management, investment in trail infrastructure and visitor use. A public scoping period has been extended to June 23rd because there was a problem with the planning website. It’s working now though, at parkplanning.nps.gov.
