A bicyclist who was riding with her bicyclists’ club in Siskiyou County died after crashing into a tree. 61-year-old Jennifer Mason of Arcata was riding with a group on Saturday. She had fallen behind the others on Sawyers Bar Road west of Etna and for some reason her bike drifted off the pavement and went down a steep hill. She was stopped by a large tree. It wasn’t until later Saturday afternoon that her absence was noticed and a support driver for the club retraced the route, eventually finding Mason’s body.
