The City of Redding Recreation Department is teaming with the Enterprise Lions for a river float event. It’s next Saturday, the 17th, and it’s called “Sundial Splash”. Participants will launch from riverfront park behind the Civic Auditorium on a variety of kayaks, rafts, canoes, paddleboards, or anything else that be safely paddled down the river. The float ends at the Reginato River Access Boat Launch off of South Bonnyview. It’s about a six mile float. At the end of the journey there will be live music, food trucks, and a ride back to the starting point. all proceeds will go toward youth-focused activities by the Lions, MLK Center, and YMCA. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for kids under 16. The first 200 paid ticket holders get a free “Sealline” dry bag full of goodies. Registration is at sundialsplash.com.
