It’s fortunate that nobody was in the way when a logging truck spilled its load in the City of Shasta Lake Wednesday morning. The 7:30AM crash on Ashby Road near Central Valley High School sent huge logs tumbling very close to a couple of houses on Los Gatos Avenue. The cab of the truck remained upright and nobody was hurt, but a large heavy duty Chevy pickup that was parked along the road was crushed by one of the logs. The driver, 30-year-old Juan Escalante of Burney, was bringing the logs to the Sierra Pacific Mill right around the corner.
