Rainy weather should help Cal-Fire on a couple of Northern California wildfires. The Whitepine Fire is in Northern Siskiyou County about 10 miles east of Hornbrook. It started at about 4:30PM Tuesday afternoon and has forced a couple of road closures. As of Thursday morning it’s 46 acres with 90% containment. A lot of smoke was drifting into Chico Wednesday from the Wilbur Fire in Butte County. It’s off Wilbur Road north of Oroville Dam Boulevard, and it’s fully contained at 91 acres. The Spring Fire in Tehama County about 7 miles east of Cottonwood in the Jelly’s Ferry area is contained at 78 acres.
