A man and his three children are without a home following a fire in the Keswick area early Monday morning. Cal-Fire and Keswick volunteers were called at 3:10AM to the location on Iron Mountain Road near Keswick Dam Road. They arrived to find a 1200 square foot double wide mobile home fully involved in fire. Because of their minimal construction standards, mobile home fires are extremely difficult to fight and it’s usually not safe for firefighters to go inside a burning mobile. Little could be done from the exterior to save the living quarters, and the home was a complete loss. The family and their dogs all got out safely and nobody was injured. The cause of the fire has not been determined, according to a Cal-Fire spokesperson.
