A vegetation fire that threatened some very large houses on the bluffs in Redding on Saturday was started by kids playing with fire. The blaze was at the end of River Bend Road off Hilltop Drive. Fighting the wind, Redding Firefighters contained the fire to about a quarter acre of dry grass and brush. It was determined to be caused by juveniles, but it’s known if those juveniles were contacted as part of the investigation.
