Somebody intentionally torched four cars Sunday night in a small industrial park near Redding Municipal Airport. Cal-Fire and Redding Fire both responded to Avianca Drive off Meadowview because it’s in the mutual threat zone that surrounds the city. At around 11 O’clock the first arriving engines found three vehicles engulfed in flames. The fire was spreading to a fourth vehicle and vegetation while threatening to spread to a nearby building. Firefighters protected the building, three of the cars were destroyed and the fourth sustained moderate damage. Redding Fire Investigator Patrick O’Connor determined the fire to be intentional, though no suspect has been identified.
