A fire is burning in the rolling hills of Southwestern Shasta County. The vegetation fire is off of Platina Road 12 miles west of Ono and 3 miles west of the Graves Ranch between Ono and Platina. There was a structure threatened but that’s been averted by firefighters. The estimated size is 21 acres with 25% containment. A Cal-Fire spokesperson tells us the blaze had been heading uphill with a light wind behind it but it reached a ridgeline and has slowed considerably. The cause is unknown at this time.
