A home burned Wednesday in Downtown Whitmore. The residential structure fire was near the intersection of Emerald Woods Lane and Whitmore Road. Crews responded at around 4:30PM and reported the house to be engulfed in flames, which had some minor spread to vegetation. Power lines were down and Whitmore Road was closed because of fire equipment. The house was apparently destroyed. The cause is not known.
