About 7 acres was burned in an intense fire Tuesday afternoon in the Buckeye District just north of Redding. The afternoon blaze broke out off of Vista Pines Drive, which is off Beltline Road north of Oasis. Homes were threatened but Cal-Fire Battalion Chief Scott Corn says the homes were saved because residents had cleared vegetation around the structures very well. He says a lot of dozer work was necessary to access the many spot fires.Redding Fire Department assisted and multiple aircraft were used.
