The Shasta District Fair was a success despite the extreme heat that struck the area last week. Attendance totaled 51,550 through the gates. Nearly 500 junior livestock animals were sold at the auction, netting a total of more than 1.1 Million Dollars. Last year is when the auction surpassed a Million Dollars for the first time. Much of the meat auctioned off has been donated back to the 4-H and F.F.A. for Monday’s BBQ at the fairgrounds before the Anderson Explodes fireworks show.
