One-way traffic control has been in effect all day after a big rig rolled over off Highway 299 in Trinity County. At 4:45AM Friday morning the tractor trailer went over the side a little east of Big Flat. The sleeper cab became separated from the belly dump trailer, with the cab about 20 feet over the side and the trailer about 200 feet over the side on the bank of the Trinity River. An unknown quantity of diesel spilled, though Cal-Trans dammed it off as soon as they could to minimize spillage into the river. The driver, who was reported to be bleeding from his ears, had complaints of pain to his head, neck and arm, and he was taken to Mercy Hospital.
